Thailand eyes to become regional fashion hub

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - Thailand has targeted to become a fashion hub in the ASEAN Community (AC) and to become a world major fashion city in the foreseeable future. While announcing the target recently, Thai Industry Ministry Atchaka Sibunruang pointed out that being a regional fashion hub and a world major fashion city will boost both national income and reputation. Atchaka said her ministry has also targeted to raise Thailand's revenues from the fashion industry to 1 trillion baht within 5-10 years, from 620 billion baht in 2015. Besides, her ministry plans to restructure the Thailand Textile Institute (THTI) to become an institute for modern fashion designs to promote and upgrade the national fashion industry in a complete circle.
