Thailand, Laos, Vietnam's provinces to foster economic cooperation

MUKDAHAN, Sept 3 (TNA) - Three provinces of Laos, Thailand and Vietnam -- Savannakhet, Mukdahan and Quang Tri -- ink a three-way deal on economic cooperation for tourism, trade, investment and public relation. Representatives of the three provinces attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation in Tourism, Trade, Investment and Communications in 2016, hosted by Mukdahan at River City Hotel on Friday. At the end of a four-day conference on the tree-way cooperation organized by Mukdahan, the three provinces which are all located on the East - West Economic Corridor, agree to further their cooperation on various fields. They have reaffirmed commitments to, among others, create favorable conditions for immigration, import and export; facilitate movement of people and goods across borders, cooperate in the field of communication and promote connectivity. Local governments of three provinces reassured their firm stance to promote cooperation in tourism, trade, investment and some other important fields. They vowed to encourage business matching, facilitate SMEs’ investments in their respective provinces and engage in joint tourism promotion campaign. They also agree to develop favorable conditions for tourists in traveling in the area in order to avoid duplication of activities and improve transport services. (TNA)
