BANGKOK, June 11 (TNA) -- Permanent Secretary for Energy Areepong Bhoocha-Oom said after the Myanmar-Thailabnd Joint Working Committee (MTJWC) on Friday that the meeting was held at the permanent secretary-level with an aim to continue previous cooperation before the change of the new Myanmar government.
Mr Areepong said the cooperation include electricity trading, and the set up of a joint floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) with the capacity of three million tonne, which would be operated by Thailand's PTT Plc to be used in Thailand and partially in Myanmar.
He said the meeting has affirmed that a setting up of the first LNG storage is required to ensure stability.
The meeting also conclude that the gas pipe line would be connected to the LNG storage in Myanmar's Kanbouk city, which is located close to Dawei deep sea port.
The meeting suggested there are five perfect locations for the connection, however, PTT has asked to inspect and survey the locations first for final confirmation. (TNA)
