THY's destinations in Russia to increase
MOSCOW (A.A) - January 11, 2012 - Turkish Airlines (THY) will increase the number of its destinations in Russia to eight as of March, 2012.
THY Russia Director General Mefail Deribas stated on Wednesday that THY's new destination in Russia would be Novosibirsk.
THY had been flying to only Moscow till 2005, said Deribas, adding that the number of destinations in Russia increased to seven till 2011.
The number of passengers carried between Russia and Turkey was 60,000 in 2005, and it increased to 700,000 in 2011, he said.
Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier airline of Turkey, headquartered in Istanbul. It operates scheduled services to 146 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
THY carried 32.6 million passengers in January-December, 2011.
