TRANSPORT SECTOR IN STATISTICS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first 11 months of 2012, 18719.3 thousand tons freight and 3702.6 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight rose by 1,996.2 thousand tons or 11.9 percent and the number of carried passengers rose by 158.4 thousand persons or 4.5 percent. Due to the increase in carried freight and passengers, revenue from railway transport increased by 31.7 billion togrog or 9.0 percent to 384.3 billion togrog in the first 11 months of 2012, compared to same period of the previous year. In the first 11 months of 2012, 3677 tons freight and 713.5 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by air transport. Compared to same period of 2011, the number of carried freight increased 1,096.4 tons or 42.5 percent, the number of carried passengers rose by 188.3 thousand persons or 35.8 percent. Due to it, revenue from air transport increased 31.8 billion togrog or 21.0 percent to 183.3 billion togrog in the first 11 months of 2012, compared to same period of the previous year. Ch.Enkhtuya
