UAE, leading exporter to Iran in calendar year

TEHRAN,Apr.13(MNA) - The United Arab Emirates was the leading exporter of goods to Iran in the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2014. It is while the volume of trade between the two countries has declined in recent years due to the sanctions imposed on Iran’s economy. The United Arab Emirates exported over 6 million tons of commodities, worth $11.852 billion, to Iran in the last Iranian year, showing 6.65 percent drop in weight and 11.54 percent rise in value compared to its preceding year. China, India, South Korea, and Turkey were the next largest exporters of goods to Iran in the last year by exporting $9.664 billion, $4.310 billion, $3.855 billion, and $3.647 billion worth of commodities, respectively. Other countries exported $17.491 billion worth of products to Iran in the past year.
