UAE is ready to provide data to World Bank study on health and educational spending

The UAE is ready to provide the visiting World Bank team with data on its hands for its study on public spending in the educational and health systems in the UAE, Director General of National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Rashid Khamis Al Suwaidi said yesterday. At a meeting with the World Bank experts, Al Suwaidi said the data, which will be classified based on scientific and methodological systems, will constitute the core seed to prepare and analyse the reality accurately and according to the NBS references. He stressed that technical cooperation with the World Bank will have significant impact on the professional use of official statistics in the planning and evaluation process to conclude findings especially in the health and education sectors. The World Bank is conducting the study for the Ministry of Finance. The NBS technical team delivered during the meeting a presentation on the statistical data the World Bank needs in areas of demographic structure and characteristics, general, detailed indexes regarding health and education. Al Suwaidi affirmed that the technical team would offer assistance and support to the World Bank analysts in consistence with the NBS's statistical, legal and technical reference. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
