UAE's participation in Hannover Messe 2013 proves huge success

Hannover, April 14, 2013 (WAM) - : The UAE Pavilion at Hannover Messe 2013, in which 24 government entities, private companies, industrial organisations, and exporters showcased their products and services, attracted large numbers of German and international industrialists, business leaders, investors, and consumers eager to learn about UAE industrial offerings and discuss prospects of business cooperation and partnerships. The 5-day Hannover Messe, the world's largest and most important industrial show, concluded on Friday 12th April. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy, the participation of the 24 UAE entities in this prestigious international exhibition, which this year brought together 11 leading trade fairs focusing on recent developments in the various industrial sectors under the theme "integrated industry." The UAE delegation concluded several business deals and started negotiations on other deals that are expected to be finalised in the near future, with some national industries set to expand into German, European, and other global markets through strategic business partners and trade cooperation. National companies explored new industrial technologies that will help strengthen the competitiveness of the national products in global markets. The UAE pavilion welcomed approximately 2,800 UAE visitors and Hannover Messe has attracted 200,000 business personalities over the past five days. Representatives of the participating entities valued the services and facilities that ADDED offered them and thanked its officials for providing them with the unique opportunity to participate in this huge industrial event. As part of the Hannover Messe activities, ADDED, in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy, launched the 2nd UAE Investment '&' Business Forum on 9th April, which served as a valuable platform to explain to German and international business leaders, decision-makers, investors, and media the benefits that UAE Vision 2021 brings to the national economy and UAE business partners. Through speeches, presentations, and panel discussions, the UAE delegation highlighted investment and business opportunities for international companies in the Emirates and shed light on areas of trade and industrial cooperation between the UAE and Germany. Mohamed Omar Abdullah, ADDED Undersecretary, noted large UAE participation in this year's Hannover Messe and said this shows the state's eagerness to develop its industrial sector, a key sector on which the state focuses as part of its Economic Vision 2030. He said ADDED's participation in Hannover's Messe was part of the department's efforts, at the guidance of the Emirate's wise leadership, to diversify the economy, strengthen the industrial sector, and develop Abu Dhabi's business environment and global competitiveness. He stressed that ADDED will continue its efforts and contacts with the economic world so that the UAE will occupy a pre-eminent position on the international economic map. The 24 UAE exhibitors in ADDED's 650-square meter pavilion at the center of the Hannover Messe grounds were: UAE Ministry of Economy, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Etihad Rail, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), Abu Dhabi Quality and Control Council (QCC), Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce '&' Industry (ADC), SENAAT General Holding Corporation, Western Region Development Council (WRDC), ZonesCorp , Hamriya Free Zone Authority, Government of Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), Abu Dhabi National Industrial Projects Co.
