WIEF Chairman To Lead Delegation For WIEF's IAP Meeting In New Delhi

By Mohd Iswandi Kasan Anuar NEW DELHI (India), July 3 (Bernama) -- The Chairman of the World Islamic Forum Foundation (WIEF) Musa Hitam will lead the delegation to the International Advisory Panel (IAP) meeting in New Delhi, India, Wednesday. The delegation comprises industry experts, business leaders of the financial, banking investment sectors, thought leaders and heads of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) related organisations. The IAP is the advisory body of the WIEF that provides strategic input and intellectual content for the annual global and regional WIEF as well as its related initiatives. "We have chosen to converge in India as the country is today a growing market. "With some of India's prominent personalities in the industry present, we are looking forward to discussing and addressing some of the underlying socio-economic issues, alongside sustainable ways to overcome these matters which hinder nations from developing," Musa told Bernama here Tuesday. A key focus area of the one-day WIEF IAP meeting is regional partnerships and cooperation among countries, related to the WIEF Foundation's ideals of "Building Bridges Through Business". At the same time, the shifting of economic influence and how Asian powerhouses like India are a rising and influential force to work with, is also on the agenda. In line with the theme for the 8th WIEF, "Changing Trends, New Opportunities", the meeting will also discuss noteworthy topics related to the it, and matters pertaining to the global economic outlook. The 8th WIEF will be held from Dec 4-6 at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Johor, Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
