World Bank sees Thailand as ASEAN’s 2nd best in logistics

BANGKOK, Sept 5 (TNA) -- The World Bank witnesses logistic development in Thailand and ranks it the 2nd best for logistic performance in Southeast Asia. Kalin Sarasin, chairman of the Board of Trade of Thailand, said the World Bank was aware of the continuous logistic development in Thailand especially in customs procedures, international transport, the capacities of government and private logistics providers, punctuality and track-and-trace services. Mr Kalin also said that logistics improvement cut transport costs. Besides, Thailand would introduce the customs-related National Single Window (NSW) that would better integrate data from the government and the private sector in relation to government-to-government, government-to-business and business-to-business operations. The improvement of national logistics was progressing as the government was developing infrastructures and solving problems with the private sector. Better logistics would attract more investors to the country, Mr Kalin said. (TNA)
