World Economic Forum On East Asia To Kick Off In Bangkok Thursday

By Tengku Noor Shamsiah Tengku Abdullah SINGAPORE, May 31 (Bernama) -- The World Economic Forum on East Asia (WEF-EA1 2012), which will kick off in Bangkok Thursday, will gather senior government officials, top business executives and thought-leaders from the region to tap on future opportunities in order to achieve sustainable and equitable growth. Singapore will be represented by S. Iswaran, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade & Industry. A statement from the Trade and Industry Ministry said Iswaran would also meet Thai Energy Minister Arak Chonlatanon and business leaders on the sidelines of the WEF-EA. In addition, Iswaran will participate in a live debate over Deutsche Welle TV to discuss the potential growth and opportunities for regional collaboration in the tourism industry. -- BERNAMA
