Being Engineer In Iraq Poses No Obstacle For Zain To Become Singer

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 (Bernama) -- Working as an engineer with an oil and gas company in Iraq has not posed any obstacle for Zain Ruhani from trying to make a name for himself in music. Zain Ruhani, whose real name is Zainal Mohd Isa, 30, said, apart from his interest in singing since he was 13, he also dabbles in composing songs particularly of ballad genre and has composed 40 songs to date. “The journey of my new singing career has been smooth so far despite having a job in Iraq. “My job scope in Iraq requires me to work in the field for a month and then one month break in Malaysia, so I use the opportunity being here (Malaysia) to focus on my singing,” he told Bernama after making an appearance as a guest on the Bernama News Channel’s Nine11 programme Tuesday. When asked why he took such a long time to become a singer, Zain who was born in Bentong, Pahang, admitted that his low self-esteem stopped him from pursuing singing much earlier. Zain, currently in the midst of promoting his first single titled ‘Impian Rahsia’, expressed his excitement when the song received encouraging response from fans apart from being chosen as the theme song of a drama series entitled 'Melankolia' on TV3. --BERNAMA
