Iran-Georgia To Cooperate On Environment

Baku, Dec 16, IRNA – Iran Ambassador to Tbilisi Majid Saber, in a meeting with Georgian Minister of Environment Khatuna Gogaladze on Saturday, discussed with him ways of developing environmental cooperation between the two countries. Referring to recent visit of Iran's VP and head of Department of Environment to Tbilisi, the ambassador called for execution of signed MoU concerning environmental cooperation between Iran and Georgia. Ms. Gogaladze, for her part, called Iran an important and influential country of the region and said her ministry stands ready to develop environmental ties with Iran. The two sides underlined continuation of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of environmental issues such as maritime, educational environment, environmental diversity, exchanging information and experiences, increasing experts visits, and reciprocal support of the two countries in international and regional societies./end
