Iran Judge Orders Environment Offenders To Write Articles

Shiraz, Fars province, Nov 11, IRNA – A judge in the city of Zarqan in Fars province issued a verdict to punish six youngsters who had tried to catch a fawn in Bemoe National Park. Director General of Fars Department of Environment Hossein Ebrahimi told IRNA on Saturday afternoon that the six young offenders, who were arrested by the environment guards, were condemned to 91 days in prison, but the judge, considering the offenders age, ordered them to write an article of at least 2,000 words about the environment and necessity of protecting it . Also the youngsters are forbidden to enter the National Park and they must refer to director of the park every month and receive a good behavior certificate on the environment. Ebrahimi said that if these offenders do not obey the judge order, they will be imprisoned./end
