Ministry of Environment Destroy A Hundred Devices Used in Attracting Birds

Doha, April 11 (QNA) -The Ministry of Environment on Wednesday destroyed a hundred devices used in attracting birds and called(Swayat) which its land and marine environment inspectors at the environment protection department have seized recently. The prohibition of the Ministerial decision No. 115 of 2011 issued by HE the minister of environment Abdullah bin Mubarak bin Aaboud al-Moudadi before using these Swayat in view of their harm to the environment. The seizure operations have been confiscated by inspectors, in cooperation with the police where the offenses were referred to the competent legal authorities, which in turn issued a destruction order devices to attract birds noting that the process of destruction of these devices has taken place in Mesaieed in the presence of a number of specialists from the Department of Environmental Protection inspectors concerned. It is known that the use of these devices in fishing birds cause significant damage to the environment of farms , plants and trees, at a time when a section of land and marine environmental management and at the environmental protection department , is exerting great efforts and cooperate in order to activate the decision of HE the Minister in this regard. The devices used in hunting birds known as Allfo which date back to the Qatari environment in the months of February and March of each year, and allows these birds to be hunted via falcons and not through the use of the aforesaid devices known as Swayat that cause severe environmental damage to land and sea. It noted the Ministry of Environment and the cooperation of citizens and residents who are to report promptly for such violations, which had a significant impact on the operations of the settings.
