FIFA to help KFU build training center in Issyk-Kul

Bishkek, May 23, 2023. /Kabar/. The International Football Federation (FIFA) will help build a training center for the national teams of Kyrgyzstan in football, futsal and beach football in Issyk-Kul region, President of the Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) Mederbek Sydykov told journalists.

He said that today a site in the village of Kara-Oi with an area of 8 hectares is provided for the construction of the facility. KFU will build the base for its own budget with the support of FIFA.

“The project for the allocation of 8 hectares has been submitted for public discussion. We want to build a football center for national teams. In Bishkek, the base of the Kyrgyz Football Union occupies 3.5 hectares, but this is not enough. We need 10.5 hectares, or at least 8. These 8 hectares are allocated to us in Issyk-Kul. A base for women's and men's Olympic, youth, youth teams will be built there," Sydykov said.

The president of the KFU noted that in order for the project to pay off, other sports facilities will be built on its basis. He added that FIFA has outlined the requirements for receiving a grant, and the KFU fulfills each of them.
