Fishery Stations Make Big Fish Hauls

Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- In hearty response to the resolutions of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials and fishermen of fishery stations in the DPRK have recorded achievements in fishing.

Fishers at fishery stations in the west coastal area of the DPRK are making good hauls.

By increasing the operational rate of the fishing boats, the Mundok Fishery Station caught thousands of tons of tiny shrimps and hundreds of tons of sand eels in May.

Fishermen at the Unjon Fishery Station are increasing the fish catch by introducing a rational fishing way.

Through scientific fish detection, Hanchon and Jongju fishery stations are boosting the per-boat and per-net hauls.

Fishermen at fishery stations in the east coastal area of the country are achieving successes in fishing, too.

Learning in time about the marine conditions and the movement of a shoal of fish, the Kim Chaek Fishery Station fulfilled the May plan for catching sea trout ahead of schedule by concentrating the fishing means and equipment.

Similar successes were made by Chongjin, Songdowon and Thongchon fishery stations. -0-
