FMs of Kyrgyzstan and France hold political consultations in Bishkek

Bishkek, May 11, 2023. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz-French political consultations were held in Bishkek between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France on Wednesday.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the the Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Director of the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Dzhusupov, the French delegation was headed by the Deputy Director of the Department of Continental Europe of the French Foreign Ministry Sylvain Guiaugué.

During the consultations, a wide range of issues was discussed, including political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The parties reaffirmed their mutual intention to develop bilateral political dialogue through the organization of mutual visits at high and highest levels.

During the exchange of views, special attention was paid to the issues of building up economic and investment cooperation. In particular, the need for joint work on organizing a business forum in 2023, as well as establishing cooperation in the field of energy, tourism and water management between Kyrgyzstan and France was noted.

Special attention was paid to the issues of interaction within the framework of Central Asia, as well as cooperation through the EU.

The sides stated their interest in continuing close foreign policy coordination in such international structures as the UN, OSCE and UNESCO.

The parties reaffirmed their intention to continue an open and mutually respectful dialogue across the entire spectrum of development of bilateral relations.
