Foreign Minister meets UNCPGA President

New York, Sept. 19 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Dr. Han Seung-soo, the Council of the Presidents of the UN General Assembly (UNCPGA), and Dr. Jehangir Khan, the Secretary-General of the Council and Director of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. Dr. Han Seung-soo requested the Dr. Al Zayani to convey his greetings and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, wishing Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity. He praised the meeting of HM the King with the members of the Council of Presidents during their visit to Bahrain last March to participate in the meeting of the former Presidents of the Assembly, noting the hospitality they received, and wishing Bahrain further development. Dr. Al Zayani lauded the Council's efforts to promote the role of the United Nations in the international arena. He noted the noble values included in the goals of the organisation to promote international cooperation, maintain global peace and security, and achieve sustainable development for the benefit of the people of the world, wishing the Council continued success.
