‘THIS IS BAHRAIN’ to be held in Rome

Manama, Mar. 2 (BNA): The Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations (BFEA) said that their next international "THIS IS BAHRAIN" event will take place on May 27 in Rome, Italy. The BFEA’s ‘THIS IS BAHRAIN" that began its life in London and travelled to Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Washington DC and New York has grown in size and success with each international destination. "We are delighted to announce that ‘THIS IS BAHRAIN" will be joined in Rome by our dear brothers and sisters from the GCC countries, which means ‘THIS IS BAHRAIN" has now evolved into ‘THIS IS THE ARABIAN GULF’,” BFEA Secretary General Betsy Mathieson said. “We are proud that since 2014, ‘THIS IS BAHRAIN" events around the world have brought to life the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and that we have successfully showcased the many achievements since the Accession of His Majesty. We have opened the eyes of the world to the fact that the Kingdom of Bahrain is a welfare state taking care of her people from the cradle to the grave, that women enjoy equal rights under the law, that human rights are respected, that our democratic progress continues unabated, and thanks to His Majesty’s insistence on upholding our religious freedom, the Kingdom of Bahrain remains a model of peaceful coexistence, where citizens and residents of all faiths live together in harmony with mutual respect and love.. “By simply telling the truth about life in The Kingdom of Bahrain and backing it up with verifiable facts and figures, we have opened eyes and won hearts and minds wherever we have travelled, strengthening old friendships, making new friends, breaking down cultural and diplomatic barriers, and attracting high-level business investors whilst at the same time portraying our humble message of Peace and Love. “But let me be clear, ‘THIS IS BAHRAIN" events have raised awareness and corrected negative, inaccurate opinions not just about The Kingdom of Bahrain, but about the GCC countries and our region in general. “It is therefore a natural evolution that we are all set to travel together to the beautiful, historic city of Rome, Italy, where on May 27 the inaugural ‘THIS IS THE ARABIAN GULF" event will be launched with an exhibition, conference and for the first time ever we will also be hosting an "INTER-RELIGIOUS PEACE DIALOGUE". "THIS IS THE ARABIAN GULF" INTER-RELIGIOUS PEACE DIALOGUE will feature keynote speakers from Italy, Turkey, the GCC countries and delegates from around the world, all ready to listen, participate and co-operate, as we join together to defeat the global menace of extremism, radicalisation and terrorism. “The aims of ‘THIS IS THE ARABIAN GULF" are the same as in our previous "THIS IS BAHRAIN" events: to present the true face of life in our countries, to create awareness of our region in general and share the many valuable cultural, educational, tourism and business opportunities in the GCC whilst strengthening existing friendships, developing new ties and a deeper mutual understanding,” she said.
