12 Countries Confirm Participation In SIFF Next Month

KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia) June 20 (Bernama) -- Twelve countries have already confirmed their participation in the Sabah International Folklore Festival (SIFF) being held on July 8-17. State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Masidi Manjun (second from right) said two of the countries - Finland and Timor Leste, were newcomers in the event which is being held for the seventh time. "We are still waiting for more participants as we have a capacity to accommmodate 20 admissions. "Other countries who have confirmed their attendance are Poland, Kuwait, Czech Republic, Ireland, Latvia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Egypt and Philippines," he told reporters after distributing messages and stickers for vehicles which will be used at the festival Wednesday. Masidi also announced the two mascots for the festival which were the Bal-bal from the Iranun community folklore and the 'Siwot Dalan' of the Dusun Tuaran tribe. (photoBERNAMA) MALAYSIA
