19 migrants injured in tour bus crash near Bangkok

BANGKOK, April 23 (TNA) - Nineteen migrant workers were injured in a charter bus crash this morning as rescue teams rushed to the scene, which is just 16 kilometers from the capital Bangkok. The accident occurred in front of a temple on Rama 2 Road in Samut Sakhon’s Mueang district early morning. The police said 19 migrant workers, all of them are Myanmar nationals, were injured after a 40-seater tour bus overturned. The rescue teams rushed to the scene and took all of the injured to nearby hospitals.The police added that most of the migrant workers got hurt by shattered glass and suffered bruises. Bus driver who also received minor injuries from the accident, told the police that his vehicle lost control and overturned when travelling to Mahachai, where the migrant workers would be dropped off. He said he picked up 40 migrant workers from the western province of Tak to bring them back to work after Songkran holidays. (TNA)
