2012 FIA General Assembly and award ceremony to take place in Istanbul

ISTANBUL (A.A) - February 15, 2012 - The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has announced that their 2012 General Assembly meeting and award ceremony would take place in Istanbul at the beginning of December. The FIA General Assembly meeting will continue for five days with the participation of around 500 delegates. The FIA award ceremony will be an occasion where all drivers from international competitions, including Formula 1 and World Rally Championship, will receive their cups. The International Olympics Committee (IOC) officially recognized FIA in January. Experts believe that FIA's General Assembly and award ceremony in Istanbul could be a reference for Istanbul, a city which is a candidate for the Summer Olympic Games in 2020. -FIA- The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading motoring organisations.
