25 Defence Attaches On Six-Day Tour Of Kuching

KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), June 20 (Bernama) -- Defence attaches from 25 embassies and high commissions based in Kuala Lumpur paid a visit to the World War II Heroes' Graves, here Wednesday as part of their six-day familiarisation tour of the city. Led by the United States defence attache, Capt John Segura (sixth from left), the military advisors laid down wreaths on the graves as a mark of respect for the fallen heroes during the war. The group was also briefed on the war history in Sarawak by the State Tourism Federation Heritage Development Committee chairman, Lim Kian Hock. Speaking to reporters later, Segura said their tour was to understand further the diverse culture in Malaysia, apart from exposing themselves on the different aspects of the Malaysian Army. "This is the first visit to Sarawak for most of us and our tour so far had covered several interesting sites in Kuching as well as the Malaysian-Indonesian border post and the First Division army camp," he added.
