40,000 people can view royal cremation procession
BANGKOK, Oct 10 (TNA) – Designated areas for crowds to witness the royal cremation procession of the late King can accommodate 40,000 people, who can reserve vantage points one day before the actual ceremony.
Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, Omsin Cheewapruek said public members will be allowed to enter the viewing spots on Oct 25 from 5am and they must pass one of nine security screening checkpoints around Sanam Luang ceremonial ground.
Meanwhile, the minister said media members are not allowed to broadcast the royal cremation ceremony via Facebook Live but they can take photos and videos.
The ban is not imposed for public members but they are asked to remain calm and composed while taking pictures and using social media.
The Television Pool of Thailand will broadcast the event live and the ceremony will also be broadcast to 177 countries worldwide through Thai TV Global Network.
In addition to royal crematorium replicas, built across the country, 113 designated cremation arches have been built in Bangkok for people to place sandalwood flowers for the beloved King. (TNA)
