4th Army Region commander to beef up security in Thai south
PATTANI, Nov 3 (TNA) -- The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Front Command said the commander of the 4th Army Region had expressed sorrow on the recent violent attacks in the Thai southernmost provinces on Wednesday night.
Deputy spokesman of ISOC Region 4 Front Command Col Yutthanam Phetmuang said the 4th Army Region Commander Lt Gen Piaywat Nakwanich has expressed his worries and his condolences to the families of the victims of the violent incidents which took place on the Wednesday night, killing an official and two innocent bystanders.
He said the commander, in the mean time, has ordered concerned agencies to immediately provide assistance and compensate the victims' families at the best of their abilities, while reiterating to relevant authorities to quickly gather evidence for further probe into the criminals behind the heinous acts.
Moreover, the commander has ordered all units to revise their safety measures and to beef up safety operations where necessary.
The spokesman pointed out that the military's full effort to carry out offensive operations have helped the army seized items which are connected to the unrest and incidents at various occasions.
Col Yutthanam noted that the recent attack is considered to be extreme cruel, as it was aimed to destroy public assets to disrupt the peace and harmony of the local people. (TNA)
