Abu Dhabi Police Police's Forensic Evidence Department becomes member of the International Organisation of Forensic Odontology

Abu Dhabi (WAM) : The Forensic Evidence Department, at the Abu Dhabi Police Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs, has obtained membership from the International Organisation of Forensic Odontology. The Forensic Evidence Department's official website, along with its e-mail address and the name of the department's representative, were added to the organisation's official website during the International Symposium on Forensic Odontology, which was held in Florence, Italy.
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, stressed that Abu Dhabi Police is committed to achieving excellence in its departments, on both the scientific and practical levels. "Abu Dhabi Police is keen to keep up with scientific advancements in order to support scientific skills and practical experience with global expertise to influence and be influenced in a positive manner," said Colonel Al Hammadi.
He also noted that Abu Dhabi Police permanently strives to join international organisations that deal with evidence. "Obtaining membership of the International Organisation of Forensic Odontoloy is not the first that the department has succeeded in obtaining, and won't be the last, God willing," concluded Colonel Al Hammadi.
Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Forensic Evidence Department, submitted a report prepared by Dr. Salem Saeed Al Dhuhouri, the department's representative in the organisation, under the theme: "The Evolution of Premolars: Crown-to-root Ratio, a key to age estimation".
It is worth mentioning that the International Organisation of Forensic Odontology is the only organisation in the world that deals with forensic odontology research and practice, like victim identification (DVI), age estimation, and bite marks, among others. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
