Manama, Jan. 2 (BNA): Students of the College of Graduate Studies at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) are organising the first student conference between January 22 and 24. The Conference, to be held under the theme of "Educational Horizons with an Innovative Vision", is the result of student efforts from all educational and technical specialisations in the college, and it will shed light on recent issues in education. This purposes to build a network of social communication among specialists, as well as to demonstrate leading teaching methods and patterns to enhance human development skills, in addition to opening up dialogue between academics and researchers.
The Conference will focus on certain topics including future planning, educational visions abreast with global changes and developments, the role of education in establishing and strengthening national values ??among citizens of the Gulf, training to prepare future leaders, the quality of education and linking of curricula and programmes to actual needs and areas of human development. Furthermore, recent issues and trends in the field of education for individuals with learning difficulties, disabilities and autism will be discussed, as well as education and human development in the era of advanced technology.
The conference will also handle contemporary issues in gifted education, guidance programmes and their role in confronting students’ educational problems. It will review scientific perspectives of psychological research in light of current educational issues, as well as obstacles that threaten the educational process and limit human development.
The recent period is witnessing an increasing gap in the educational needs of students. Scientific conferences play a major role in the exchange of scientific expertise, which contributes towards honing the diverse skills of members of the community in different scientific fields, transferring these experiences to educational communities and environments, consequently increasing the level of education and human development growth in these communities and environments. This first student Conference will discuss many issues pertaining to education and development.
