Al Maktoum Foundation implements development project for poor families in Upper Egypt

CAIRO, 1st June 2015 (WAM) -- Al Maktoum Charity Foundation and the Ministry of Local Development in the Arab Republic of Egypt yesterday signed an agreement to implement a development project for poor families in Upper Egypt. The agreement was signed by Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Maktoum Foundation, and Major General Adel Labib, Egyptian Minister of Local Development. During the signing of the agreement, Mr. Al Sayegh conveyed the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and patron of Al Maktoum Foundation, to the attendees, referring to his directives to work to meet the needs of poor families. Al Sayegh said that the project aims to enable the development of poor and needy families in the Sohag Governorate through the provision of up to 60 sewing machines for poor families. He added that the Al Maktoum Foundation will also distribute 1,000 food parcels on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. In a speech during the signing ceremony, Major General Adel Labib thanked the Al Maktoum Foundation on the generous initiative, applauding the historical and close relations between the UAE and Egypt which were founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He also expressed the appreciation of the people of Egypt to the leadership of the United Arab Emirates, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
