ALECSO Conference Calls for Instituting World Arabic Language Organization

ulture Tunis, December 21 (QNA) - The participants in the Second International Conference on Arabic Language, organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), entitled "Arabic Language and Human Cultural Diversity", called for the establishment of a global organization for Arabic language to promote and develop the Arabic Language using computerization, artificial intelligence and digital production. At the conclusion of the Conference, the participants underlined the need to build bridges of communication, knowledge and cooperation between Arab and other cultures of the world to shape the universal knowledge while preserving the values of diversity, openness, respect for one another's culture and uniqueness, accommodate the communal linguistics to interact with the mother tongue, without neglecting other languages, support learning and ensure its continuity. They also emphasized on the need to use Arabic language in the fields of the translation, authorship, and Arabization, while ensuring that the role of the Arabization Coordination Office under the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization and the financial and logistic support to the translation and authorship centers in all Arab countries. The participants noted the need for the Arabic Language to adapt with the conditions and circumstances of the times and to deal with the challenges of linguistic domination of foreign dialects They called for the development of a reference framework for teaching Arabic language instruction, attention to teacher training and commitment to the applied Arabic studies, and the application of the comprehensive proficiency test in Arabic language, as in the other languages. The participants in the conference called for the development of a combined database for all Arabic intellectual works, as well as for the promotion of Arabic language in the neighboring countries in the Arab region, such as Africa and China, and in coordination with embassies and cultural and consular missions, to support the teaching of the Arabic language in the foreign countries.
