All screening points at Sanam Luang close temporarily
BANGKOK, Oct 25 (TNA) – All screening points for people to enter Sanam Luang area is now temporarily closed and will reopen at 8 pm.
The temporary closure is to prepare the area for a royal merit-making ceremony at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace before moving the royal urn to the Royal Crematorium at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground tomorrow.
After reopening at 8 pm today, it is expected that provide space for public members to bid farewell to HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej will be occupied by midnight.
The Administration Center for the Royal Cremation of the late king Bhumibol Adulyadej estimated that about 23,000 people have already passed screening checkpoints to Sanam Luang area this morning before all nine screening checkpoints have closed.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has prepared six million sets of food and drinking water as well as toilet buses in all areas for the crowds. (TNA)
