Ambassador of Kazakhstan to QNA: Kazakh-Qatari Relations Will Reach a Qualitatively New Level

Doha, October 10 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar Arman Issagaliyev underlined that the Kazakh-Qatari relations will reach a qualitatively new level, stressing that his country looks forward to the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Astana Tuesday. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Ambassador Issagaliyev said that the relations between the two countries have been fraternal, and are characterized by high activity, as evidenced by mutual visits at the level of government members, heads of national companies and financial organizations. HE the Ambassador noted that the important visit of HH the Amir will be accompanied by the signing of bilateral agreements in the field of investment, economy, military cooperation, healthcare, tourism, education and sports. His Excellency added that the mutual desire to deepen the cooperation between the two countries was once again confirmed during the meeting of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HE the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Beijing in February this year as part of the opening ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympics and on the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum on June 24. "Thanks to the will of our leaders, we have a confident development of relations in all areas of cooperation. The main basis was undoubtedly the launch of direct flights, which on March 19 this year was increased to 4 flights per week. Despite the pandemic, we have managed to increase trade with Qatar in recent years. However, it still remains at a low level," HE the Ambassador added. "Last year, for the first time, we exported Kazakh meat products to the Qatari market, which was in good demand. Currently, we are working on the supply of other types of agricultural products, which will significantly increase the indicators of trade turnover," His Excellency said. His Excellency noted that during the last conversation in May 2021, the two sides agreed to prepare several major investment projects that will become a kind of locomotive of bilateral cooperation. "We have identified a number of such projects and submitted them to the Qatari side for consideration," he said. "There is a visa-free regime between our countries and quarantine measures are constantly being facilitated. Tourism will play a very important role in the bilateral relations of our countries, especially in the field of business," HE the Ambassador continued. HE the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar pointed out that the private business also shows a mutual desire to create joint ventures, noting that a number of initiatives of the Kazakh Embassy in Doha have received support at the highest level from both sides.
