Ambassador of Turkey to QNA: HH the Amir's Visit to Turkey is Important Opportunity to Strengthen Brotherly Relations

Doha, October 13 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mustafa Goksu to the State of Qatar stressed that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to his country within the framework of the 8th meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee constitutes an important opportunity to strengthen the distinguished relations of brotherhood between Turkey and Qatar and find more areas of cooperation. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE the Ambassador said that the upcoming visit of HH the Amir to Turkey, and His Highness's meeting with HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan come in light of the unique and brotherly Turkish-Qatari relations, as well as the great ambitions and common destiny. HH the Amir and HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold a bilateral summit ahead of the meetings of the joint Supreme Strategic Committee in Istanbul on Oct. 14, His Excellency added. His Excellency pointed out that the meeting of the Supreme Strategic Committee is an occasion the two sides await annually to discuss what have been achieved in all issues between the two countries, adding that the committee contributed to enhancing the bilateral relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership. His Excellency also revealed Qatar and Turkey will sign about 10 new agreements in various fields during the visit. The agreements will be in the defense, culture, media, joint exercises and other fields. HE Turkish Ambassador to Qatar said that Ankara and Doha have great ambitions to enhance cooperation in various fields of common interest, and the two wise leaderships are expected to discuss various bilateral and regional issues, developments on the international scene, and steps that can be taken in order to strengthen the existing distinguished relations between the two countries. His Excellency underlined that Qatar and Turkey share a common destiny, and there is a shared view on many regional and international issues of interest for the two countries. His Excellency noted that HH the Amir's visit to his country comes in light of regional and international developments, and therefore it will be a very important visit to coordinate Turkish and Qatari stances on many issues, especially since Qatar and Turkey attach great importance to the peace and security of the entire Gulf region. HE Turkish Ambassador to Qatar said that in addition to defense cooperation, the two countries are currently attaching special importance to security relations, especially regarding securing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the most prominent international sporting event in the history of the Gulf and the Middle East.
