Approximately 430 types of medicines delivered

Manama, July 18 (BNA): In accordance with the directives of HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to speed up the provision of medicines to meet citizens needs, Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh today paid a visit to inspect the process of unloading shipments of approximately 430 types of medicines at the ministry’s main warehouse.
Health Undersecretary Dr. Waleed Al Mani’, Assistant Undersecretary Fatima Al Ahmed and officials were present.
An official of the Materials and Supplies Department reviewed the mechanism of receiving and storing shipments of medicines before distributing them to hospitals and health centers.
The minister said the ministry has implemented a short-term plan to cover medical stock shortage to meet patients' needs.
The Minister was informed of the quantity and types of medicines available at the ministry’s warehouses, which have been received earlier according to the two-day short-term plan set out by the ministry.
The minister said the increase in demand for health services calls for intensifying work to make medicines available in hospitals and health centers, stressing the ministry's keenness to support cooperation and coordination with the parties concerned to develop health services to translate the Prime Minister’s directives into reality.
