Arab Observatory for Human Rights praises HM King's human rights initiatives

Cairo, Mar. 30 (BNA): The Board of Trustees of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights at the Arab Parliament has lauded the directives and initiatives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the field of human rights, hailing the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in this regard. During its meeting, held here today, under the chairmanship of the Arab Parliament Speaker, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi, the board also commended the progress currently witnessed by the human rights system in the kingdom locally and internationally. The panel also welcomed the Arab Observatory for Human Rights’ signing of memoranda of understanding with the National Institution for Human Rights in Bahrain, and the National Council for Civil Liberties and Human Rights in Libya. The board also approved holding an annual Arab human rights conference to highlight Arab human rights initiatives. The panel also elected Dr. Mofeed Shehab as its Deputy Chairman.
