Arrangements for Productive Families' Award discussed

Manama, June 22 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan met here today the Director-General of the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al-Khalifa. Shaikha Maram informed the minister about the on-going preparations to hold the HRH Princess Sabeeka’s Award for Productive Families in March, 2017, expressing appreciation to the government and the Labour and Social Development Ministry for their continuous support for productive families to boost home-based businesses, increase social welfare and empower Bahraini families and women. The award’s action plan, accompanying events and jury were approved during the meeting. The minister asserted that the fourth edition of the Arab version of the award embodies HRH Princess Sabeeka’s unwavering g keenness on upgrading productive families and highlighting their role in social and economic development. The award was first launched in 2007 within the initiatives of the kingdom to encourage productive families, and in 2011 it expanded to include productive families across the Arab world, he explained. The HRH Princess Sabeeka Award for Productive Families is held annually at the local level and every biannually for the Arab level. The award is granted in three categories, namely the Best Productive Family, the Best Product and the Best Sponsor of Productive Families. Regarding the Arab version, it is also granted in three categories, namely the Best Arab Productive Family, the Best Arab Product and the Best Sponsor of Arab Productive Families.
