ASEAN Cooperatives making first presence at National Cooperative Day Expo

KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- The 11th National Cooperative Day Expo is set to be the biggest expo to date with the presence of numerous ASEAN countries at the event in Bukit Jalil National Stadium starting next Friday. Cooperative Commission of Malaysia executive chairman Md Yusof Samsudin said it will be the first time that ASEAN cooperatives from Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei and Thailand are participating in the three-day expo in conjunction with the 2012 National Cooperative Day. "There will be 300 booths exhibiting products from the cooperatives," he said on Friday. Md Yusof said the expo is aimed at allowing cooperative members to exchange ideas and promote their products and concepts to the public. The expo is scheduled to be opened by Prime Minister Najib Razak on July 14. -- BERNAMA
