Asean Secretariat Officials To Observe Myanmar By-Election

By Ahmad Fuad Yahya JAKARTA, March 29 (Bernama) -- A delegation from the Asean Secretariat, led by external relations director Dr Mely C. Anthony, left for Yangon on Wednesday to observe the April 1 by-election in Myanmar. The team is accompanied by media personnel from the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS), ASEAN Today/Metro TV and Channel News Asia (CNA), the secretariat said in a statement. "They are expected to arrive in Yangon this evening. The Asean Secretariat is grateful to the Myanmar Government for the logistics support," it said. -- BERNAMA
