Assistant foreign minister holds meetings

Baku, Apr.7 (BNA): On the sidelines of the Ministerial Meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in its 18th session in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, the Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ecuador Dr. María Fernanda Espinosa. The Assistant Foreign Minister took pride in the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Ecuador and reviewed with her ways of strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields. He noted the tremendous role played by the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister during her chairmanship of the G 77 in 2017 and the great efforts exerted by her country to succeed the 3rd United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, held in Quito in late 2016. He pointed out that the conference had adopted the new urban agenda for the next 20 years and lauded the series of successes achieved by the Republic of Ecuador in the field of international organizations. In her turn, Espinosa lauded the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in diplomacy and international organizations and the country’s remarkable presence in related forums. She affirmed her country's keenness to continue cooperation and coordination with the Kingdom of Bahrain in all forums and at all levels to achieve the objectives and principles of the Non-Aligned Movement. The Assistant Foreign Minister also met with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Sharoush Khalid Said, and reviewed with him ties between the two brotherly countries. The Assistant Foreign Minister expressed his sincere congratulations to the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the brotherly Iraqis for their victory against the extremist groups, especially DAESH. He also stressed Bahrain’s full support to all the efforts aimed at establishing security and stability throughout Iraq and preserving the country’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity.
