Assistant Foreign Minister meets EU officials

Brussels, Nov. 10 (BNA): Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al-Dosari highlighted Bahrain's success in strengthening its leading position as a model in protecting human rights, consolidating patriotism, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and combating extremism, hatred and terrorism, in light of the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Heading Bahrain’s delegation to the 4th meeting of the Working Group on Human Rights in coordination with the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels, Belgium, Al-Dosari outlined Bahrain's pioneering achievements in protecting human rights and promoting political, civil, economic, social and cultural freedoms in accordance with the international rights conventions and agreements.
He briefed the European delegation on the progress made in the fields of care, health services, housing, security, education, progress of Bahraini women, bridging the gender gap, children's rights, supporting persons with disabilities, among many others.
He stressed that this meeting comes within the framework of the Kingdom's keenness to strengthen and develop bilateral relations with the European Union and the European Parliament.
He stressed Bahrain’s keenness on strengthening partnership with the United Nations in the service of its common objectives in maintaining international peace and security, respect for human rights and supporting the sustainable development goals.
Al-Dosari held a number of meetings with members of the European Parliament in Brussels, where he briefed them on the most prominent achievements of Bahrain in the field of developing and promoting human rights at all levels.
