Astana meeting to make major input in parameters for Syrian settlement - Lavrov

MOSCOW, January 20. /TASS/. The meeting in Astana, scheduled for January 23, between representatives of the Syrian government and the armed opposition will be an important input in offering parameters for the settlement, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at opening of political consultations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s members on Friday. "We consider this meeting as an important input in offering parameters for the overwhelming political settlement in Syria, which will continue at the wider events in Geneva," the minister said. The consultations in Geneva are due to begin on February 8. Read more
