Auditor General participates in ARABOSAI meetings

Jeddah, Oct. 26 (BNA): of the National Audit Office (NAO) Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa participated in the 14th Assembly of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI).
The meeting was chaired by Saudi Arabia’s General Audit Bureau (GAB).
The assembly, comprising the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in the Arab member countries of the League of Arab States, approved the previous meeting’s agenda, the report of the Governing Board on the follow-up of the organization's activity and the measures it took to ensure the implementation of the previously approved work program.
The assembly also approved the financial report of the Chairman of the Governing Board.
GAB declared UAE’s State Audit Institution as its second deputy will host the 15th session of the assembly.
The meeting discussed the Strategic Plan Committee’s report on the achievements for 2018 to2022, adopted the strategic plan for 2023-2028 and approved the organization's work plan and budget.
The general assembly elected the members of the new Governing Board and the heads of the main committees of the organization and declared the 24th of May as the Arab Day of the Supreme Audit Institutions.
The meetings included a technical symposium on the second day held on "The Goals of the Transition to Accrual-Based Accounting and its Role in Improving the Performance of Public Finances," "The Effects of the Transition to Accrual-Based Accounting on Government Audit Work: Opportunities and Challenges," and "The Roadmap for Achieving Excellence in Developing Work Methodologies and Capacity Building: Solutions and Methods."
The assembly’s third was dedicated to the meetings of the new Governing Board and the formation of the Strategic Plan Committee.
