Australian Man Walks 500km to Pay Respect to Late King
SURAT THANI, Oct 21 (TNA) - An Australian walks almost 800 kilometers from Koh Samui in southern part of Thailand to Bangkok to pay respect to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Wearing black sport outfit and holding a portrait of the king, Hammill Michael Davis, 46, on Wednesday began his journey from Samui Island where he had spent three month for vacation. His destination is the Grand Palace in Bangkok to pay respect to the king’s body. Davis said he planned to walk at least 50 kilometers each day, in doing so he will reach Bangkok in 15 days.
Along the way, people have given him encouragement and offered him food and drinks. On the second day, Davis was in Don Sak district of Surat Thani and heading for Phun Phin district where he plans to stay overnight in. (TNA)
