Awareness lecture on fighting financial corruption held

Manama, Apr. 20 (BNA): The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning held a lecture on integrity and fighting financial corruption, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate for Fighting Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security. The lecture was delivered by Legal Advisor Abdulla Al Tahmazi, in which he reiterated that financial corruption is one of the dangerous phenomena facing countries, especially developing countries. The financial loss resulting from financial corruption in developing countries alone is estimated between 40 to 60 million dollars every year. The legal advisor also referred to the most prominent corruption crimes and related legal outcome and actions and procedures taken against its perpetrators. In addition, he highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role in fighting corruption locally, whether through the Economic Vision 2030, national campaigns or activation of the hotline 992.
