Azerbaijan abolishes procedure of fingerprinting for foreigners during visa receiving process

Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 30 / Trend / Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on Friday regarding urgent measures in issuing visas to foreigners coming to Azerbaijan, and for persons without citizenship. The order indicates that the Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to exclude the point of taking fingerprints from foreigners arriving in Azerbaijan, and persons without citizenship for receiving visas, from the "Regulations on the use of "Enter-Exit and registration" automated inter-agency information retrieval system". The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Security must, as soon as possible, arrange the issuance of electronic visas for tourists from the embassies and consulates of Azerbaijan in foreign countries.
