BACA, Islamic Development Bank hold meeting

Manama, Sep. 3 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, today held a coordination meeting with a delegation of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) of Jeddah.  The BACA President praised the IDB's support for cultural infrastructure projects and activating the concept of social responsibility and joint work with social institutions. She hailed the IDB’s support for the Pearl Road project, which will be opened next November under the royal patronage to coincide with Bahrain’s celebrations of Muharraq as Capital of Islamic Culture.  A brief presentation of the progress of the Pearl Road project was given.  The IDB’s delegation welcomed the ongoing cooperation between the two sides, lauding the BACA’s role in promoting the cultural activities locally and regionally.
