BACA President highlights investing in culture

Muscat, Feb. 24 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa attended the opening of the 23rd edition of Muscat International Book Fair. Bahrain is taking part in the fair, showcasing a variety of publications about literature, history, archaeology, heritage, art and culture. Shaikha Mai highlighted at a symposium held on the occasion the importance of investing in culture as a pioneering initiative to foster partnership between the public and private sectors in carrying out cultural projects. She pointed out the need for more concerted efforts to improve the cultural infrastructure mainly in countries that enjoy a rich cultural heritage like Bahrain.
