BACA president meets Chinese minister of culture

Beijing, Sep. 20 (BNA): Bahrain Authority of Culture and Antiquities (BACA) president Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa headed the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation to participate in the Silk Road Conference in the Chinese capital, Beijing. Shaikha Mai met the Chinese Culture Minister Li Yang on the sidelines of participation in the conference, praising the friendship and cooperation ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People's Republic of China. The Chinese minister expressed his appreciation of the cultural efforts in the Kingdom of Bahrain whose accomplishments echo throughout the world. The two sides discussed various important topics, including renewal of the Cultural Agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People's Republic of China (PRC) in view of the importance of coordination of cultural work between the two countries. The two sides also discussed plans to boost the cooperation in the relevant cultural fields, especially the theatre where Bahrain will host the Chinese artistic shows. Also, the two sides discussed the establishment of the Chinese Cultural Centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain as a heritage house in Bahrain. The conference was hosted by the Chinese government to review the historic values of the Silk Road and its pivotal role as the venue for convergence of cultures from all over the world.
