BACA president meets corporate delegation

Manama, Apr. 20 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa met StandardCharteredBank delegation headed by CEO, Dr. Boutros Klink. Shaikha Mai praised the bank's role in bolstering economic activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, citing the two countries celebrating the bicentenary anniversary of bilateral ties. Shaikha Mai cited the Authority's cultural activities and events as part of the (Invest-in-Culture) project themed (Bahrain Your Destination) that consolidated cultural infrastructures of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Shaikha Mai briefed Dr. Klink about Bahrain's Annual Heritage Festival, fine arts exhibition, and the National Museum constructed under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She elaborated about the Pearl Road project which evidences the island's history in Muharraq due to be completed in 2018 whereas Muharraq has been designated the Capital of Islamic Culture2018. Dr. Klink briefed Shaikha Mai about the Bank's preparations for its first centenary (the Bank was established in 1920). The two sides talked about aspects of cooperation between BACA and the Bank in coordinating the cultural programme for visiting delegations that will participate in the Bank's regional meeting next month. Dr. Klink thanked Shaikha Mai for her reception and expressed the Bank's pride in the wonderful environment of Kingdom of Bahrain with its wise leadership and genuine people which embraces all.
