BACA President meets French delegation

Manama, June 8 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa received a delegation representing the Bahrain-French Town Planning Initiative. The meeting was attended by the Bahrain-based Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARCWH) incumbent Director Dr. Mounir Bouchenaki. The meeting focused on cooperation between BACA, the ARCWH and the Bahrain-French Town Planning Initiative. BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of conserving Bahrain’s deep-rooted vestiges and archaeological sites as part of efforts to promote the Kingdom as a cultural destination. The French delegation commended the BACA-led efforts to conserve Bahrain’s heritage and archaeological sites, stressed their readiness to cooperate with relevant parties to elaborate a comprehensive vision for planning towns.
